KOJO, part of PMY Group, will help light up Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium this weekend as the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens celebrates its 50th anniversary. In partnership with Hong Kong China Rugby, KOJO will deliver a full suite of sports presentation and technical production, including an immersive laser show as part of the tournament’s Opening Ceremony, which is supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. The 2:30 minute show will showcase the tournament’s history, celebrate legends of the game, and feature iconic Hong Kong imagery.
Executive Director of the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, Bryan Rennie, spoke of his excitement ahead of opening night.
“This is our second year working with KOJO and we challenged ourselves to find new ways to wow our audience making use of Kai Tak’s state-of-the-art technology. A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes,
and I know fans will be looking forward to the show across the whole weekend,” he said.
KOJO will also deliver Xpression graphics throughout the tournament, elevating the in-stadium atmosphere for fans and enhancing the broadcast experience for global audiences. In addition, KOJO
will provide technical expertise and assistance to the Kai Tak Sports Park technical team during the tournament.
General Manager of the KOJO Group, Chantella Perera highlighted that every key moment on the field would be supported by custom-designed motion content.
“As Hong Kong welcomes the world for this milestone event, KOJO is proud to help showcase the city’s vibrancy through cutting-edge sports presentation and immersive live production,” she said.
“This major sports presentation follows last week’s delivery for the AFL’s Gather Round, with Super Rugby’s ‘Super Round’ in Christchurch, New Zealand, up next.
“We are passionate about captivating crowds and creating unforgettable moments beyond the field of play, and we look forward to delivering more events in Hong Kong as it continues to attract major sporting
events.”
