Embracing the Docks

 

In our sixth year working with the Fremantle Dockers crafting their brand and sports presentation delivery, KOJO were tasked with building upon the creative direction from previous seasons, discovering a new connection to the local area and elevating the content that establishes the season’s marketing and visual assets, through to the in-stadium experiences for the fans.

The response saw a concept that quickly established a new and exciting approach for the season. Embracing the location of the Fremantle docks and guided by the ‘Stop At Nothing’ mantra, the player-shoot showcased the team standing strong as they were hit by a cascading wall of water, representing the unrelenting force of the ocean as it battered the Fremantle docks.

Walking on to the set from the hot Perth sun, the players quickly embraced the refreshingly cold water and the results from the content capture days speak for themselves, with some absolutely epic shots becoming the foundation for the highly engaging sports presentation and content delivery for the season ahead.

Making Waves

 

To visualise the dramatic water theme, KOJO created two custom sets, one wet and one dry which the players moved between on the content capture day. Multiple high-pressure washers were used with high contrast lighting to create the wall of water and a LED backdrop with bespoke ocean and Fremantle content was displayed on the dry set to create multiple angles of the action packed content to choose from.

Content Playbook

 

Embracing the grit and the Sea of Purple, the Stop at Nothing brandmark was established for the season, supported by an adaptation of our established ForeverFreo logo and typography. This created a consistent visual thread that informed the marketing and social materials created throughout the season be the Fremantle FC team, and set the foundation for the creation and delivery of match-day content for sports presentation.
