With the ICC T20 World Cup Women’s Final falling on International Women’s Day in 2020, KOJO realised we had an opportunity to create something truly monumental.
To introduce Katy Perry to the stage for her live pre-match concert, we delivered an empowering video played at the MCG, in front of a record-breaking crowd of 86,000+ fans and broadcast worldwide to twelve different countries. This tailor-made package was a love letter to all the groundbreaking, sweat-making, and breathtaking women out there who’ve pushed through physical and social barriers to play their chosen sport. Starring the likes of Ash Barty, Sam Kerr, and Steph Gilmore, it also served as an inspiring piece for the next generation of athletes.
With a powerful voice-over from legendary athlete and equality advocate Billie Jean King, we combined footage of past, present and future superstars to proudly deliver a message of unity, equality and positive change.

MAKING OF
We shot the feature over 3 non-consecutive days on location in Melbourne, with the final shoot day with Billie Jean King taking place at the MCG only just two days out before the ICC T20 World Cup Final.
