Sport & Broadcast Graphics Designer – Ross XPression

Melbourne, Victoria 3000

About Us

At KOJO, our vision is to captivate the world.

We’re a sports, experiences and entertainment business creating unforgettable moments for audiences across live sport, stadiums, broadcast and major events. We combine creativity, technology and production expertise to deliver experiences that influence, entertain and inspire.

Our people are energetic, passionate and always looking for ways to push what’s possible. We care about the work we create, the people we create it with and delivering exceptional experiences for our clients and their audiences.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Live Broadcast Graphics Designer/Artist to join our KOJO Sport team and help shape the graphics audiences see across some of Australia’s biggest sporting and live event environments.

This is a senior, hands-on creative and technical role working across the end-to-end delivery of broadcast and stadium graphics. You’ll collaborate closely with our Graphics, Technical, Creative Services, Sports Presentation and Content Production teams to turn creative ideas into world-class live experiences.

A major focus of the role will be working with Ross XPression – ideating, building and delivering graphics packages, supporting on-site implementation and helping establish consistent ways of working across KOJO’s graphics projects.

Beyond creating great work yourself, you’ll also play an important role in developing our broader graphics capability. You’ll train and mentor team members, help define the “KOJO Way” for XPression, improve content management workflows and identify opportunities to make our delivery more consistent and scalable across markets.

You’ll also get close to the action, with opportunities to travel and support live event and game-day delivery when required.

About You

You’re an experienced graphics professional who understands that great live graphics need to look incredible and perform flawlessly when it matters.

You’re comfortable working in fast-moving live environments, can juggle multiple priorities and have the technical knowledge and attention to detail needed to take a graphics package from concept through to live delivery.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Strong relevant experience within live events, sport, entertainment or broadcast.
  • Strong experience with Ross XPression and broadcast graphics systems.
  • Advanced proficiency across Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of Dashboard and scripting.
  • A strong eye for large-scale visual design and experience translating design specifications into finished stadium assets.
  • Experience with asset management systems and content management workflows.
  • The ability to troubleshoot and solve production challenges in live environments.
  • Experience building, implementing and operating graphics packages.
  • Confidence training and mentoring others in graphics systems and workflows.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform under tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to proactively contribute new ideas.
  • A genuine interest in sport and entertainment, including AFL, Cricket, NRL, Rugby and Football.
  • Flexibility to travel and support events outside standard hours when required.
  • Interest and/or understanding of key sports (cricket, AFL, rugby, basketball etc)

Most importantly, you’re someone people enjoy working with. You’re caring, genuine and positive even when the pressure is on, and you naturally bring KOJO’s values and behaviours into the way you work.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll:

  • Ideate, build and deliver Ross XPression graphics packages, including on-site implementation, operation and training.
  • Lead the development of consistent XPression standards and ways of working across KOJO graphics projects.
  • Train and mentor team members in XPression graphics and content workflows.
  • Help develop the “KOJO Way” for graphics delivery across our sports portfolio.
  • Oversee and improve content ingestion and management processes across our Sports Presentation deliveries.
  • Help establish and evolve scoreboard layout best practices.
  • Work collaboratively across Graphics, Sports Presentation, Creative, Technical and Content Production teams.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, systems and processes across markets.
  • Provide remote and on-site support to ensure smooth event delivery.
  • Perform game-day roles where required and help deliver exceptional live sporting experiences.

If you’re passionate about combining creative design, broadcast technology and live sport, and want to help shape what thousands of fans experience on game day, we’d love to hear from you.

Join KOJO and help us captivate the world.
